Lisa Levy
Outreach Coordinator
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Lisa came to Connecticut to attend Yale Divinity School, from which she graduated in 2012. During her time at YDS, she frequently worshiped at Chapel on the Green, a community where she found refuge, inspiration, and a deep sense of connection to God. Now, as Trinity’s new Outreach Coordinator, she feels as if she is coming home. She will be splitting her time between Trinity and Loaves & Fishes, an organization that has been offering food, clothing, and community to New Haven residents for over forty years. Lisa is excited to help build a robust collaborative relationship between the two organizations.
Lisa has served as a chaplain at the Connecticut Mental Health Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital-Westchester Division, and Yale-New Haven Hospital. She also worked for several years as the Spiritual Support Coordinator at a large homeless services agency in downtown Houston, where she acted as a chaplain to the clients, served as the liaison to the agency’s Council of Congregations, and coordinated Coming Home, a restorative community program that brought together housed and unhoused people for a weekly common meal, a therapeutic support group, and one-on-one mentorship.
Lisa is a graduate of Amherst College (BA English Literature), Syracuse University’s Creative Writing Program (MFA in Fiction), and Yale Divinity School (MDiv).
Autumn is her favorite season, and Lisa enjoys traveling to beautiful parts of New England to go leaf-peeping. When not at work, Lisa likes to read, write, spend quality time with close friends, and love on her four elderly rescue pets.
